Bucks & Ducks Hunting Lodge
has exclusive hunting lease rights on the Horton and Horton Angus Ranch.

Located in Clay County, Texas, the Ranch encompasses over 14,000 acres of widely varied terrain - from prairie rangeland to heavily wooded valleys to steep cliffs and rocky escarpments.

The prairie region of the Ranch features sandy loam uplands and a wide variety of native grasses, scrub oak, and mesquite.  Large areas also contain open meadows and fall stubble hay fields.  These areas are ideal for quail and dove hunting.

The Cross Timbers woodlands region of the Ranch offers very hilly, often steep terrain with sandstone and limestone escarpments and irregular surface features.  Exposed rocks and boulders dominate the landscape in many areas.

Post oak, blackjack oak and other trees provide heavy cover in low-lying areas.  Ideal for hog, turkey and deer, this region makes for an often challenging area to hunt.

The Ranch is also home to over a hundred ponds, providing excellent habitat for ducks and geese, as well as nice wallow areas for hogs.  Many of the larger ponds are stocked with game fish, including large-mouthed bass and catfish.

Take a virtual tour of the Ranch and its beautiful hunting lands:

In addition to the 14,000 acre Horton & Horton Ranch, our hunters also have access to major hunting lands in both Montague and Jack Counties for both high and low fence hunting.  It is easy to see over a hundred animals a day in the high fence area!

Bucks & Ducks Hunting Lodge and its surrounding hunting lands have been featured on Michael Waddell's "Bone Collector" - as well as on Bill, Matt & Ryan Busbice's "Wildgame Nation" - both airing on The Outdoors Channel.
